The Sweetvetch (Hedysarum neglectum) is a mountainous herbaceous plant known primarily to men who seek a natural way of boosting their nervous system and libido. It is very rare in this country, occurring naturally in the mountain ranges of central and east Europe and also of western and central Asia at elevations of up to 2,500 m above sea level. It grows mostly on half-shaded stabilised screes, grassy and stony slopes and on leeward terraces. This Sweetvetch is known for its symbiotic association with soil bacteria thanks to which it is able, through plant roots, to absorb air oxygen using it to meet its own nutritional needs and to enrich the adjacent soil. The active substances are extracted from its roots.
