The Water Hyssop (Bacopa monnieri) comes from Asia and is valuable thanks to its capability of boosting our memory, concentration and cognitive functions. The genus Bacopa includes more than 100 herbal species. The species of Bacopa monnieri occurs in the wetlands of the tropical and sub-tropical areas of the Indian Subcontinent in humid and marshy or sandy localities alongside brooks in the warm regions of India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, China, Taiwan and Vietnam. It is a small creeping herbaceous plant with multiple basal shoots, tiny elongated leaves and lilac or white coloured flowers with four or five petals.
